Representative Experience

  • Representation of joint venture of Fortune 50 corporation and Malaysian governmentin claim against design-builder arising from engineering, procurement, andconstruction of chemical processing plant in Malaysia. Claim totaling more than $30million was resolved through mediation.
  • Defended municipal owner against $7 million claim by contractor on a waste-toenergyplant. Claim involved issues of acceleration, delays, and lost efficiency.
  • Representation of general contractor in administrative proceedings against FairfaxCounty, Virginia, for claims in excess of $20 million arising from construction ofwastewater treatment plant. Payment issues relating to pipeline were resolvedthrough mediation.
  • Represented large international contractor in $7 million claim for project delay,design errors, extra work, disruption, differing site conditions, and changes inconstruction of wastewater treatment plant for municipal owner. Claim was settledfor $4 million.
  • Representation of first tier electrical and mechanical subcontractors with claims fortime extensions and additional compensation on construction of the Edwards AirForce Base B2 Bomber Test Facility for the United States Air Force. Claim wasresolved through mediation.
  • Representation of general contractor, electrical contractor and mechanical contractorin acceleration and design errors claim arising out of the construction of a newhospital. Amount of claim was over $30 million.
  • Representation of electrical contractor in matter arising from termination ofsubcontractor on District of Columbia computerized traffic signalization project.
  • Representation of general contractor, mechanical subcontractor, electricalsubcontractor and casework subcontractor in lawsuit against the owner andconstruction lender for a major hospital project.
  • Representation of instrumentation subcontractor in arbitration proceedings arisingfrom retrofitting of coal-fired electrical plant.
