Biography

Richard W. Pearse’s practice is concentrated in domestic and international infrastructure development, construction and finance.  He represents international and domestic lenders, owners, manufacturers, OEMs, contractors and engineering firms in all aspects of project development and finance, including site acquisition, structuring SPE and other equity participations, joint venture and development agreements, EPC contracting and offtake and supply contracts and licensing technology and dispute resolution at various stages.

Although licensed in Illinois to practice US law, Mr. Pearse recently moved to Porto Alegre, Brazil, where he operates as a solo practitioner practicing US law.

Mr. Pearse has spoken on and written several articles and book chapters on a wide range of related topics, including the chapter on China in Doing Business in the BRICS (Globe Law and Business 2013), the chapter on China in International Public Procurement (Globe Law and Business 2009), “International Privatization” (chapter 22) in Construction Law (Matthew Bender 2011), “Industrial and EPC Projects” (chapter 12) in Construction Law: Transactional Considerations (Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education 2017) and “Managing ‘Split-EPC ConContracts’ for International Construction Projects” in the Journal of the ACCL (2010).
